Like the famed peach melba dessert, the Duke of Orleans rises amid the decadent opulent tastes of Hibiscus, Peach, Apple, Black Currants, and Safflower. Aromatic and fresh, like strolling through an orchard in the early morning light, this Tisane is a bountiful collection teeming with possibilities. It's amazingly blended with frozen strawberries and white rum. A delight served chilled with a splash of Prosecco, or a touch of agave'. Whether prepared hot or as a cold brew, this blend is a divine treat.
The Brew Ha-Ha:
A Tisane, or more commonly known as Herbal Tea, is not actually a tea at all. It is collection of herbs, spices, roots, leaves, seeds, bark, berries, or flowers. A true Tisane contains no leaves from the Camellia Sinensis plant family or the African Red Bush in their ingredients. Recipes, originating in Egypt, as far back as 1550 BC, have been discovered. Tisanes are a tea alternative and considered healthier than traditional teas, and are usually categorized by which of their base element is derived, such as:
Leaf Tisanes: lemongrass, peppermint, lemon balm, French verbena, & more
Flower Tisanes: rosehip, chamomile, hibiscus, rose petals, lavender, & more
Bark Tisanes: cinnamon, slippery elm, black cherry, & more
Root Tisanes: ginger, chicory, licorice, echinacea, & more
Fruit/Berry Tisanes: raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, peach, mango, apple, & more
Seed/Spice Tisanes: cardamom, fennel, caraway, clove, nutmeg, & more
