Once called the “Drink of the Gods”, Yerba Mate has a long South American tradition.  Vegetable with toast and walnut notes, this is the perfect alternative to coffee and tea.
 
The Brew Ha-Ha:
 
Yerba Mate’ is an Herbal Tea from Latin and South America.  It is made by steeping the leaves of the indigenous Ilex Paraguariensis plant in hot water.  Yerba Mate’ is traditionally brewed in a gourd and sipped through a Bombilla straw, which filters the liquid from the leaves.  It is high in antioxidants, has a caffeine level akin to that of coffee, and is known to fight chronic headaches, fatigue, weight management, and enhance one’s physical performance.
