Plucked from the newly budding tea plant in April, when it is at its youthful zenith, Bai Mu Dan, also known as, White Peony is comprised of a fresh, downy silver-haired bud and two young leaves that is then lightly oxidized in the sun so that it retains its pure essence. This tea is intoxicatingly fragrant, producing a light, golden cup with a delicate, herbaceous flavor that is sweet, silky smooth, and unique. A true delight to imbibe with a clean follow-through feeling that is incomparable.
The Brew Ha-Ha:
White Tea is comprised of new, young tea leaves and buds from the Camellia Sinensis plant that are only harvested a few short weeks each Spring. Originally grown in China, White Tea production has expanded in recent years to other tea growing countries, such as India, Nepal, & Africa. Consisting of two main styles, Bai Mu Dan, also known as White Peony, and Bai Hao Yin Zhen, more commonly known as Silver Needles, White Tea is labor intensive, handpicked; allowed minimal oxidization and drying in the sun, called Withering, and is appreciated for its delicate flavor and wonderfully soft, sweet, succulent cup. The closest tea to the bush, White Tea is packed with antioxidants and other health affirming benefits.
